[ Oh! She got a text response. Okay, so the person on the other end is probably not a scammer. (she doesn't know how scammers operate) BUT HMMM... looks like they only know how to communicate in pictures?

[Oh... Oh, that's good. Konoha smiles when she gets the reply, even though her own had been a bit too honest, a downer. If she's interpreting it right, anyway... that meant Yoimiya had good people to rely on. That was important. ... And, selfishly... if Yoimiya was from a place like she was, then maybe the people she got along with... ?]
[ Awwwww, Konoha. Yoimiya reads the message over and over again, feeling a mix of emotions stirring in her heart. If understood correctly, she's ecstatic that she wants to meet her friends and sad she's alone in this world. ]

[ She'll make sure Konoha is surrounded by good folks!! Finding the correct emoji to convey what she wants to say next proves to be a challenge, so the next message is typed out. ]
[It's her own fault, she knows. That she's spent so much time hoping that she was dreaming instead of accepting reality, just because she didn't want it to be true. That she's been so self-conscious about being the only non-humanoid (so far) amongst the entire city populace that she's stayed in the hotel to avoid stares and treatment that seemed to vary depending on the districts she couldn't understand the borders of.
But whether it's her fault she hasn't met many people or not... It doesn't change that she's lonely. That Yoimiya's response...]
[ Oh, Konoha is such a sweet lass... everything about her is endearing, Yoimiya just wishes they met under better circumstances so she doesn't have to be all alone in this world. The response doesn't come right away as she takes a moment to decide on what to type. She's never been one to think about repayment, especially since she enjoys seeing people bond and forge new friendships with one another.
But, there is something she'd like to do with Konoha! ]
[ Oh!!! She said yes!!!! Yoimiya couldn't be anymore thrilled. Honestly, she could bolt out of the door right now and go straight to Konoha if she asked. Buuuut, she'll try to be polite.

[ The following day, Yoimiya shoots Konoha another quick text message before making her way to the dining hall to wait. It's easy to tell she's excited, anyone passing by could figure out that she's bouncing off the walls as she looks around for her fellow country gal. They've already been here a few months but there's still a lot she hasn't seen, and she's been itching to try more of Karteria's food and tea. And the best way to make a food adventure even more exciting is to explore with a pal.
As soon as Yoimiya sees Konoha, she wastes no time sprinting over to her, not skipping a beat to greet her with a big, bright smile, and the most over-the-top enthusiastic wave you can imagine. ]
Konoha! I'm so happy to see ya. Thank you for the message yesterday! I had a great time catching up with ya.
[ She had an absolute blast playing picture puzzles. One of the best things that's happened to her since arriving. ]
[... In all honesty, Konoha had definitely gone to the meeting place one hour after the message exchange with Yoimiya because she ended up feeling a bit unsure if it was one hour or one day. But when the other woman didn't show up in about half an hour, she nodded sagely to herself and decided it was supposed to be a day. No problem, no problem.
The message the next day confirms it, and sends her eagerly down to the dining hall. Normally, she isn't excited to leave the relative safety of the inn, even months later still overwhelmed by many aspects of the foreign, giant (to her) city, but... if she weren't alone, weren't being stared at with awe or suspicion by herself... When Yoimiya catches sight of her, though, Konoha lights up in turn, a smile of relief and excitement blooming on her features as she raises both hands to return the wave(s).]
Yoimiya, hello! Thanks for testing out the puzzle pictures with me... You're the only one who didn't end up calling me, hehe...
[She doesn't say it like an insult to the others, she definitely gets why people would get frustrated or, thinking they were doing her a kindness, choose to call her and try to relieve her of the attempting without realizing she was trying to practice... But it still made Yoimiya stand out. It still made her grateful. As she lets out the half laugh, she instinctively reaches up to tuck some bits of hair back behind her ear... until she remembers that, to hide the feathers beginning to sprout along her hairline, that she had taken to wearing a modified hachimaki. She just scratches at that instead.]
Are you doing well?
[Sure, she had kind of asked it over "text", but... there are obvious limits to the picture characters. It feels right to ask in person. These days... all of them seemed to be changing, even if just a little. Her own transformation, she was managing to mostly obscure beneath the cloth across her brow, a horse blanket over her withers... and an hour or so per night spent plucking feathers from her bay coat. (But she can't get all of them. They're still there, downy and brown amidst her dark equine hairs.)]
[ Konoha's proclamation causes her face to light up like fireworks bursting in the sky. She can't help but grin, looking a little too proud of herself for that feat. Truthfully, she kind of forgot about the call function halfway through the conversation, being new to how that silly syntrofos thing works. By the time she remembered that calling is a thing, she was having too much fun with the picture puzzles to stop. Her way of sending texts was so endearing that it made her genuinely want to keep it going. Might be her new favorite way of messaging people, now. Gives her a spark of inspiration for texting games with friends...
Thank you for giving her ideas, Konoha. She's already brewing up a few and cackling at bringing a little silliness into her friend's lives. For now, she's just thrilled to catch up. ]
I'm doing pretty well all things considered! There's been so much crazy stuff happening that's made settling in a little difficult but the people here are a reminder that there are still good things in the world.
[ Konoha included. There are times when even her bright, positive self feels like dimming out but she's thankful for everyone she's met, they are the light in this world.
She takes note of the homemade hachimaki, beaming to see an object that reminds her of home. During her time here, she hasn't found anything relating to Inazuma, so she Konoha made it herself sometime after their hunt for a bre. Something else that she notices is the lack of any other animalistic features on her body. At least, not anything noticeable. If she hadn't undergone any transformation, that's a good sign in her book. Hopefully, hopefully, she didn't experience any pain, that will be the first bit of good news in a long time.
Unlike the prominent bunny ears atop her head, and the cotton tail poofing out from the backside. The process hurt and she'd never wish that upon anyone but hey, at least Yoimiya can say she looks relatively adorable. Since there isn't a way to hide her ears, might as well flaunt them and strut her stuff. And strut them she does, by the way they twitch every so often, albeit unintentionally. ]
How are things going for you?
crawls back from side job hell to keep loving them
[... Yoimiya just gets it. Konoha can't help her smile from becoming bittersweet at the very idea, torn between being happy to hear someone think the exact same thing she did and the sadness of their situation. There are times when even her bright, positive self feels like dimming out... but she's thankful for all the kind people she's met, who allowed her to keep the light flickering even if it was made small by the overwhelming nature of Karteria.]
Oh, they're... they're going!
[Her desire to be honest wars with her desire to downplay anything that might worry her friend, and the strain comes out pretty obvious no matter the words. Still, she puts a tiny bit of effort into trying to obfuscate it while they're right here in the hotel lobby. So instead of "I'm so afraid I'll never make it back to my village and my parents might die without me", she says,]
The roads here in the city kind of hurt my hooves... it's all stone and bricks...
[Where did they even get all those stones and bricks, anyway???]
I think I might have found a job at least? I mean, I was hoping we would get home before we had to worry about jobs, but...
[But that isn't happening, so they had to be realistic. Even with feathers somehow growing into their equine coats and bunny ears popping up on top of their heads.]
Have you found work, Yoimiya?
HELLO!! dw this month has been wild for me, hope your job settles down
[ Oh... poor Konoha. Yoimiya hadn't thought about it since she's always wearing geta but the pavement would do a number on her hooves; the idea of stepping on a stray pebble hurts her just thinking about it. She falls silent for a brief moment, wondering if they could make something to protect her hooves during her outings.
With a hum, she taps her fingers against her chin, making a note to look around for ideas while they're out and about. ]
I'm sorry that the road has done a number on your hooves. I'll try to think of something that can help make the roads a little easier on your hooves. The people in charge really outta take things like that into consideration, y'know?
[ Especially since they all got dragged here against their will... rude. But anyhow, enough about those jerks in the suits, she's more excited that Konoha found work here!! ]
Oh!!!! You found a job here? Congrats! Hopefully, it hasn't been too hard on you.
[ And now, more than ever, Yoimiya knows she needs to get a job to make life easier for herself. ]
As for me, aside from helping out at the guild not yet. My dream is to open up a Fireworks shop here one day but you know it goes. Gotta make mora... [ wait, that's not the currency here ] er numis to make numis! So, I sorely need to take up a job, hahaha.
